Power Rankings Heading into Week 5

1. When We Were Young: Still sitting up on top, they actually got tested last week against Just Dua It. The game was closer than what most thought, up next a MWA team that just came off a big upset win over DX.

 2. New Era Ballaz: Still undefeated as well, had a slow start against Buzz City but came back and won by 10. This week's match up against DX should be a good one, lets see if the New Era Ballaz can make it 5 in a row.

 3. GPAK: Put up 60 pts in Week 4 and easily won against BNB. They play Just Dua It this week, should be a good game with Just Dua It playing better each week.

 4. DX: Tough loss in Week 4 to MWA. Not many saw that coming and now DX is .500 on the season. Look for DX to come out hungry in week 5 and make amends for their week 4 loss.

 5. Just Dua It: With the addition of Ala before the roster deadline this team gave When We Were Young a test in Week 4. Another tough opponent this week in GPAK, Just Dua It will need to play some of their best ball of the season to get this win.

 6. MWA: With the addition of Bilal before the roster deadline they notched their first win of the season in week 4. Bilal led them in the upset win over DX, will he be able to contribute to another big win this week against When We Were Young?

 7. Buzz City: Still without a win this season, but looked better in week 4 as they were up for a bit against the New Era Ballaz. Finally this week they play a team that isn't top 4 in the rankings and should have better luck this week.

 8. Bad News Beards: Since winning in week 1, they have lost three in a row. Each of their losses have been by double digits, they need to put an end to that and get a big win against Buzz City this week.

Power Rankings Heading into Week 4

1. When We Were Young: Looks like they are on the quest for a perfect season. They have been the best team in the league since day 1 and have yet to have any slip ups. Jibran and Zahir are the two top scorers in the league and the rest of the team has done it's part. It is looking like they will be staying in this spot all season.

2. New Era Ballaz: New Era Ballaz are the only other team that is undefeated and they moved up 2 spots this week by defeating the previously undefeated powerhouse GPAK. Leading MVP vote-getter Abdul had an off night against GPAK, but the rest of the team stepped up and helped notch the win for them. The 3pt shooting of Sheroz played a huge part in their win and in turn kept the arrow pointing up in these rankings.

3. GPAK: This team took their first loss of the season last week, but did find a way to make a big comeback in the 2nd half. They were down double digits at halftime, when Robert took over in the 2nd half and put this team on his back. They came within a field goal, but ran out of time. Look for this team to bounce back this week and get back on the winning track.

4. DX: This team has won 2 in a row after their tough start to the season in week 1. The addition of Raza has been a big boost for them, he brings a lot of energy to this team and does it all on the court. Their 3 bigs have done their part in the 2 wins as well. This team is getting closer to finding their stride, but is still not there yet.

5. Bad News Beards: Even though this team lost last week and fell to 1-2 on the season, they were quite impressive playing shorthanded. Without their captain Adam and their big man Jay, this team kept it close the entire game against DX. First half the game went back and forth and in the second half this team wouldn't go down each time DX tried making a run. Omar and Faizan led this squad and almost pulled off the upset win for them. If this team builds off that they will win some big games in the coming weeks.

6. Just Dua It: Just Dua It got their first win of the season last week against MWA and moved up 2 spots in these rankings. Salman who has been their best player all season had another productive game for them with Abdul stepping up as well. This team was able to seal the game with Imran's clutch free throw shooting and will look to pull off the upset of the year this week against When We Were Young.

7. Buzz City: Once upon a time this team was ranked at the 3rd spot in these rankings but have fallen all the way down here after 3 weeks of play. Once again their tough schedule has a lot to do with it, the teams that they have played are 7-2 on the season right now. This team hasn't played up to par with their talent yet and when they do the wins will start coming their way, but that needs to happen sooner than later.

8. MWA: Another team that has really fallen in the rankings since the start of the season is this squad. They started the season with attendance issues and then the last couple of weeks they just haven't played well together. This team has talent but hasn't been able to find the rhythm. They have some tough games ahead in their schedule, hopefully they find the rhythm in those games.

Power Rankings Heading Into Week 3

1. When We Were Young: This team is playing on another level and is primed to stay up here all season.  They have 3 players that are in the MVP poll and all 3 have really stood out with their play thus far.  The entire team has shown great chemistry and it seems like they really feed off each other.

2. GPAK: They cooled off in week 2 from the hot start they had in week 1. First half of their game wasn't pretty, really low scoring and a lot of missed opportunities..  They stepped it up in the 2nd half and notched another double digit win.  This week they play another undefeated team in New Era Ballaz, should be a good game.

 3. DX: After a tough week 1 they came back in week 2 and squeezed out a big win against Buzz City.  This was probably the best game of the season as it came down to the final minute.  DX won by 4 points and one would assume they would be happy about that, but it seemed like they had some tension between themselves.  Long season they need to get on the same page.

 4. New Era Ballaz: They put together another solid performance in week 2 with a double digit win to stay perfect on the season, but now their schedule gets a lot harder. Lets see how they stack up against the top tier teams in the league.

 5. Buzz City: They have had the toughest schedule in the league to start the season.  They play the top 3 teams in the league in the first 3 weeks.  Their biggest obstacle comes this week as they play When We Were Young.  They almost pulled off a big win against DX, but fell short at the end. They really need to put together their best performance this week to avoid going 0-3.

 6. Bad News Beard: They are currently .500 right now and had a tough loss against the top team in the league last week.  The final score doesn't reflect their first half and they did put up a fight in the first half.  They looked tired in the second half and that is when the game got out of reach.  They do move up the power rankings this week, but will need two good halves to beat DX this week.

7. MWA: Attendance improved a little for this team in week 2, but are still missing some core players.  Looks like attendance will be an issue for them all season and it will really hinder their chances of making a run this season. They get to play Just Dua It this week, a loss here really puts them in a hole.

 8. Just Dua It: This team has struggled to put up points and is averaging the least points in the league so far.  This is their week to change all that, they play a MWA team that already has attendance issues, during the late slot.  Good chance MWA comes short handed, which should be a big opportunity for Just Dua It to get the W.
MSC Basketball 2016 Week 2 Highlights

Power Rankings Post Week 1

1. When We Were Young: Week 1 they went at it with the 2nd ranked team in the league and in the first half it went back and forth for the most part. The second half was a different story; this squad just took over and didn’t look back. They hit 3’s from all over (including Laraib’s half court ones too), forced turnovers, and showed the entire league why they are the top team in the league.

2. GPAK: Ranked as the underdog going into this game, but played as one of the elite teams of the league. They moved the ball well and really hustled throughout the entire game. Danny was a rebounding machine as predicted and the rest of the team hit big shots. As of right now this team is the favorite to hand When We Were Young a loss this season.

 3. DX: Last season they steam rolled through the competition each week, but found out this season the competition has gotten better. They played the best team in the league and just had a poor second half. They will bounce back and be a top team going forward.

 4. New Era Ballaz: This squad got off to a quick start in the first half by hitting 3s from all over, but cooled off in the 2nd half and allowed MWA to make a comeback.  They were able to take care of business and get the W though. The 3 ball will be a major factor on their rankings throughout the season.

 5. Buzz City: A combination of GPAK playing lights out and Buzz City dealing with tight jerseys really put a dent on their first week. They were ranked high going into the season and just didn’t play like it last week. With a tough schedule to start the season, they really need to get in form quick or will continue to fall in these rankings.

 6. MWA: They had the least amount of guys show up in week 1. They were missing their captain, key players, and had no bench. The guys that did show up played hard throughout the game and put together a nice comeback in the second half, but it was too little too late. They have a solid squad but commitment is the biggest question mark for this team.

 7. Bad News Beard: They went at it with Just Dua It in week 1 with both teams playing hard, but BNB came out with the victory. BNB led throughout the game and sealed it in the final minute. Big obstacle in their path for a win streak, they play the number 1 team this week, they’ll need to score a lot more than week 1 to pull off the upset this week.

 8. Just Dua It: Got off to a slow start in week 1 with shots just not falling, They’ll look for some more consistency in week 2 and also get themselves headed in the right direction in the rankings.
